So what the heck is a fish passage project, and wh So what the heck is a fish passage project, and why won't everyone in Washington stop talking about them? 🛑🐟 Simple - they're SUPER important for allowing native salmon populations to travel safely up and down rivers.

Most fish passage projects focus on culvert replacement. Some culverts are fine, but undersized or poorly placed ones absolutely hate to see us coming. We partner with engineering firms to design a fix, whether that's a new culvert, a bridge crossing, or removing the crossing entirely, then bring in a contractor to rip out the old one and let the river return to its free-flowing self. Multi-year process, but the impacts on salmon are immediate once it's done.

Highlighted above: Carpenter Creek (undersized culvert replaced with a bridge) and East Fork Walker (replaced with a properly sized culvert). Both letting the river flow and the fish swim!
