Volunteer Opportunity: Fish Rescue at Restoration Sites
Join us for a Fish Rescue day — a hands-on, hard-working day that plays a critical role in protecting our watershed. Before construction can begin on fish passage projects, we need to safely remove all fish and amphibians from the creek. That’s where you come in! This is a great opportunity to see lots of fish, work alongside the Skagit Fisheries team, and better understand the nuts and bolts of a fish passage project.
Why we need your help
This is a big undertaking that requires long days and lots of hands. Your support helps us get this important work done safely and efficiently.
Why don’t we have set dates yet?
These projects need to stay flexible. All construction projects come with inevitable delays – equipment, permitting, or weather conditions can all affect whether an exclusion can happen on a given day. We don’t have confirmed dates yet, but we do have a general timeline, with most dates happening weekdays in the month of August. We promise to keep our communication open and honest about what we know (and don’t know) along the way.
What we do know is that we will need support throughout the month of August, between Monday and Thursdays. Even if you are not sure on your schedule yet, we encourage you to fill out the interest form and we will be in touch about dates.
