Join us for a planting party at Little Carey’s Slough for Orca Recovery Day!
Location: Little Carey’s Slough, Hamilton
When: Saturday, October 17 | 9 AM – 12 PM
Project Goal: After the major restoration project was completed in 2025, help restore the floodplain area with native plants.
This planting event is part of Orca Recovery Day! Orca Recovery Day is an intentional day of action to build awareness and make a difference for Puget Sound’s local orca pod, the Southern Residents. Whether it’s through habitat restoration parties, raising awareness amongst friends, or hands-on learning for the family, let’s show the world that the Pacific Northwest cares about these animals.
What to expect:
- A fun morning planting in an area that has historically been overtaken by invasive plants
- SFEG will provide snacks and warm drinks
- SFEG will provide gloves and tools for planting
- Standing and walking for the time of the planting
What to bring:
- A good attitude!
- Clothes for the weather – this event will take place rain or shine!
- Waterproof and sturdy shoes
How to register:
- Registration is required for each individual joining, including minors.
- Unaccompanied minors must ensure the online registration form is filled out before the event.
