This evening of short films will kick off with a reception starting at 6 pm featuring music by Whiskey River Mudflats and refreshments\, followed by the film showing at 7pm.  Come early and join the fun!  \nThe Film Festival will feature short films that will delight the senses\, inform our minds and help us appreciate nature and the struggles to protect it. Films were selected from a collection of over 200 films shown at the annual film festival held in Nevada City\, CA. The films capture the spirit of varying environmental movements across the globe and the relationship that they have to humanity and that humanity has to them. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival works with environmental groups across the globe to host On Tour events as a way to outreach into different communities and bring together a diverse audience. \nA Benefit for SFEG\nSFEG is thrilled to be selected as a host organization for this amazing film event for the 6th year and hopes the Film Festival will inspire a greater connection with our own Wild and Scenic Skagit River\, as well as providing an evening of engaging fun. \nSFEG is a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging the community in restoring wild salmon populations for future generations. Salmon habitat enhancement is accomplished through habitat restoration\, monitoring\, and a wide variety of community outreach and education programs. SFEG offers free educational programs to over 1\,500 students each year. These opportunities get students out of their classrooms and learning hands-on real science and watershed exploration which otherwise would not be available and affordable to local schools. Funds raised will go towards supporting these important education programs. They will also enable the program to continue to be offered free of charge to local schools. \n  \nPurchase tickets ahead of time to avoid the lines\, or come early to the 6pm reception to enjoy live music and refreshments. \n-Purchase tickets ONLINE through the Lincoln Theatre website:  CLICK TO PURCHASE TICKETS  \n-Purchase tickets in person at the Lincoln Theatre Ticket Office\, Mon-Fri from 12 noon to 5PM\, 712 S. SUMMARY:Pressentin Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us in partnership with Skagit County Commissioners and Skagit County Parks to celebrate the grand re-opening of the new and improved Pressentin County Park on June 10th! For nearly a decade Skagit Fisheries has been working with Skagit County Parks to restore a historic side channel through Pressentin Park that will maximize salmon benefit while also providing a diversity of new low impact recreation opportunities for the community and visitors. This project was designed to improve rearing habitat for Chinook salmon\, which gives orcas a bigger supply of food. \nIn 2021\, this channel was finally recreated and reconnected to the Skagit River. Salmon immediately began using the new habitat in the fall\, and we are greatly looking forward to the community having new opportunities to recreate and view salmon while enjoying a growing forest at this County Park. \nThe Ribbon Cutting Celebration will take place at 1 PM on June 10th at Pressentin County Park in Marblemount.  There will be brief remarks from Skagit County Commissioners and Project Partners followed by a walking tour of the Park along ADA accessible trails. \nCLICK HERE to RSVP and give us an idea of how many people will be attending. \n

SUMMARY:Earth Day at Riverfront Park
DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite you all formally to our Earth Day event on April 23rd\, located at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley. This event is hosted by Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group with the City of Sedro-Woolley Public Works Department\, and will last from 10am-1pm\, with everyone adding mulch to plants and trails\, and removing any nonnative invasive vegetation that we find. Thousands of plants have been planted at this site and in-stream habitat work will commence this summer. Earth Day efforts are one step in the process of restoring this site for people and wildlife\, so it would be an honor to have each and every one of you a part of this yearly event. \nWe also plan to host a food drive with Helping Hands Food Bank of Skagit County\, so we encourage you all to donate shelf stable foods. A booth with more information about Skagit Fisheries and salmon populations will be included. To thank our volunteers\, we plan to have a raffle with special prizes as well as tote bags for everyone with commissioned artwork from PNW artist Gray McKenna. \nThank you to Haggen\, Starbucks\, LaFeen’s Donuts\, and Jimmy John’s for providing food\, drinks\, and prizes for volunteers at this event! \nAll ages and abilities welcome- please contact Alison Studley astudley@skagitfisheries.org) if you need special accommodations. \nBring gloves if you have them\, or borrow ours.  Sturdy shoes recommended.  Refreshments provided\, and we look forward to seeing you there! \n  \nRegister HERE   \n
