SUMMARY:Spawner Survey Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to help advance salmon habitat restoration in the Skagit and Samish Watersheds this fall? \nJoin us Saturday\, October 2 for our spawner survey workshop.  Spawner surveys help us document salmon use at past and future restoration projct sites in the Skagit and Samish watersheds\, and help WDFW determine fishing limits in certain areas.  After training\, volunteer teams will be assigned a stream to walk weekly\, with monitoring going late October through late December.   \nMorning classroom portion will be held at Sedro-Woolley Library\, 110 W State St.  Afternoon session will be held at Northern State Recreation Area\, Hansen Creek.  \nSign up HERE \n

SUMMARY:Orca Recovery Day Planting at Pressentin Park
DESCRIPTION:Riparian planting is in order for the new side channel at Pressentin Park! \nHelp salmon and orcas by planting trees! \nCelebrate Orca Recovery Day in this project to restore Chinook salmon habitat.  In partnership with Skagit County Parks and Recreation we’ll be planting native plants along the new side channel at Pressentin Park.  As this park will be closed through next June\, this and future volutneer events this fall are the only opportunities for the public to get a sneak peek at the new features of the park\, including the restored Chinook channel. \nGloves and tools will be provided.  Covid-19 safety policy:  SFEG will provide hand sanitizer for volunteers\, and will sanitize all frequently touched surfaces.  Volunteers are encouraged to keep a mask handy at all times but\, per Washington State Covid-19 guidelines\, volunteers are not required to wear a mask while volunteering outdoors.  \nAll ages welcome. \nParking for this event is located at 59924 SR 20 in Marblemount. Please carpool if possible as parking is limited! \nSign up HERE \nUnaccompanied MINORS age 13-17 please have your parent or guardian fill out this form and bring it with you!
