Improving salmon habitat is the primary way SFEG seeks to enhance salmon resources. Habitat loss and environmental degradation continue to threaten the clean, healthy, and cool water salmon need to survive. Our projects are designed to improve and protect local watersheds by offering assistance to local landowners. In addition to salmon, our projects also benefit the other 80% of wildlife species that depend on healthy watersheds such as frogs, song birds and deer.

Recent Restoration Projects:
Deepwater Slough
NP Creek
Iron Mountain Ranch
McElroy Slough

Upcoming Projects:

We work with willing landowners to do the following types of restoration projects:

Riparian Projects
     Revegetation
     Fencing

Improving Fish Passage
     Culvert Replacement
     Building Bridges
     Building Weirs

In-Stream Projects
     Logs in Creeks

     Stream Bank Stabilization

Nutrient Enhancement

Landowner Assistance
Willing property owners make salmon enhancement possible. Without cooperative landowners to lead the way there would be no opportunities for salmon restoration activities in our watersheds. SFEG works with local landowners who are interested in protecting salmon resources to implement restoration projects on their property in a non-regulatory fashion. Our assistance is often free and landowner participation is completely voluntary. If you have salmon habitat on your property that you want to restore or protect please contact us.
