Planting Party: Iron Mountain Ranch

November 18 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Event Navigation

November 18: Iron Mountain Ranch  10am-1pm

Come plant in partnership with Seattle City Light at this beautiful property off the Skagit River. This 236 acre property was purchased by Seattle City Light and has undergone numerous plantings since 2005.  Help preserve existing habitat for salmon and wildlife, reduce runoff and impacts from livestock, and slow bank erosion, all by just planting trees. As you can see, these plantings are for way more than just salmon.

Directions

From Highway 9 in Clear Lake turn onto South Skagit Highway and follow it east for approximately 15.5 miles.  You will pass over Day Creek then Cumberland Creek.  At around mile 15, a large open field will be visible on the left (north) side of the highway as well as a barnyard and cell tower.  Pull into the driveway between the barn and cell tower and park along the circle driveway(There is no street address, so if you see one you’re in the wrong driveway.)  An SFEG shuttle vehicle will transport you from the parking site to the planting area.  Vehicles with large groups may drop off passengers closer to the planting area at the brown access gate (approximately ½ mile west of the parking area) if desired.  Parking is limited; please carpool.

Please call (360) 336-0172 or email outreach@skagitfisheries.org to let us know you are coming so we can have enough snacks and tools!
