Wanted: Samish River Projects

Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group has a grant from the Salmon Recovery Funding Board for salmon habitat restoration projects in the Samish River watershed. We are currently seeking willing landowners to participate in this voluntary non-regulatory effort. We can provide materials and labor to remove blackberries and reed canarygrass in the riparian zone, to plant native trees and shrubs, and to construct livestock fencing. Please pass this information along to your friends and neighbors who may own property along the Samish and its tributaries.
