SFEG Welcomes Two New Interns

We would like to welcome two new seasonal interns to our ranks this fall, Anna Casey and Paula Barger. Anna Casey is a Fisheries Technology student at Bellingham Technical College. Anna gained experience in stream restoration as a volunteer with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA), our counterpart organization in Bellingham. Paula Barger is a member of a Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) crew with the City of Bellingham. Paula is a graduate of Huxley College, and has worked for the past year doing riparian restoration along Whatcom Creek and fish surveys with WCC, and community education with NSEA. Both interns have been busy assisting SFEG crew and staff with riparian restoration projects and spawner surveys and will be with us through January. We're glad to have you with us Anna and Paula!

Anna did a great job helping to coordinate the Shoeshel planting party in October.
Paula is seen here conducting spawner surveys in November.
