Annual Meeting Brings Salmon Supporters Together

This Year's Annual Meeting and Celebration, held on January 29, brought together about 130 members of our community to enjoy a wonderful grilled salmon dinner, bid on fabulous silent auction items, mingle with fellow salmon-lovers, and celebrate SFEG's accomplishments of 2003. Dr. David R. Montgomery, geomorphologist and University of Washington Professor, gave a terrific presentation about his most recent book, "King of Fish: The Thousand Year Run of Salmon." Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it a wonderful event, particularly Gail Hopley, who did a wonderful job organizing the silent auction. Thank you to all the donors of silent auction items, to Cascades Job Corps Culinary Arts class for cooking delicious accompaniments to the salmon, to Ken Urstad and Dave Beatty for collaborating on salmon donations, and to Arn Thoreen for acting as "grillmaster". Thanks also to Scott's Bookstore for donating a percentage of book sales proceeds, and to Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation Department for the use of Hillcrest Park Lodge. We had a great time this year, and we hope to see you all again next year!
