Save the Date!

SFEG's Annual Meeting and Salmon BBQ will be held February 3, 2005 at Hillcrest Lodge in Mount Vernon. Our featured speaker will be Tom Quinn, a fisheries professor from the University of Washington. Quinn's research at the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences is entirely devoted to salmon and trout behavior, ecology and conservation. Quinn recently wrote a book "The Behavior and Ecology of Pacific Salmon and Trout" due out in December 2004. Writing this book has given him lots of new ideas, great photos and interesting information. His presentation will be focused on some of the interesting things that we do not know about salmon (instead of reviewing everything we do know!) and the ways in which our management might benefit from this information. We hope you can join us for this exciting presentation, wonderful food, volunteer awards and to celebrate our 2004 accomplishments. Invitations will be sent out in early January 2005.

Silent Auction Donations
SFEG's Annual Meeting will feature a Silent Auction to help raise funds for our Education Programs. Board members have solicited some wonderful items from local businesses and artists. If you have an item you would like to donate, please contact Lucy Applegate in our office at 360-336-0172 or lapplegate@skagitfisheries.org. Items need to be donated by January 25, 2005 to be included in our Auction Program.
