Join us for SFEG’s 2018 Annual Meeting Celebration
Thursday, February 8th at 5:30-8:30 pm at the Sedro-Woolley Community Center (703 Pacific St. Sedro-Woolley)
Skagit Fisheries would like to invite you to celebrate all that has been accomplished this year in our watershed! We have been hard at work planting trees, teaching students, and removing invasive species but we could not have done any of it with our the support of our community! SFEG Members, volunteers, project partners, and their guests are all welcome!
This year’s Annual Meeting Celebration brings Joe Gaydos to speak about his new book “The Salish Sea: Jewel of the Pacific Northwest”
Joe Gaydos is the Science Director at the SeaDoc Society, Orcas Island Office. Not only does he have a Ph. D. from the University of Georgia but he also has a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania that he uses to study diseases and population health in marine wildlife. He co-authored the book “The Salish Sea: Jewel of the Pacific Northwest.” This book is a “fascinating visual journey through the Salish Sea” and it “combines a scientist’s inquiring mind, beautiful photographs, and a lively narrative of fascinating stories, all of which impact a sense of connection with this intricate marine ecosystem and the life that it sustains.”
We will have a delicious salmon BBQ and a small silent auction to help raise funds for three of our programs! Not only that, we will be presenting our volunteer awards and have our board of directors election!
